EE08-SS: Air Temperature and Relative Humidity Probe
The Apogee EE08-SS is a customized version of the EE08 probe made by Austrian manufacturer E + E Elektronik. After years of evaluation, the EE08-SS has emerged as our sensor of choice over more expensive probes for accuracy, stability, and durability. The Apogee EE08-SS features an improved right-angle, IP67 rated, stainless-steel M12 connector; heat-reflective white cabling; and a more durable, metal-grid dust filter. These features added by Apogee only slightly increase the price over the base model from E + E, but greatly improve the performance and reduce the maintenance of the probe, especially when used with a fan-aspirated radiation shield like the Apogee TS-100.
ST-110-SS: Thermistor Temperature Sensor
The ST-110 is a high accuracy thermistor (± 0.1 C from -40 to 60 C) designed to minimize solar load and thermal conduction. White heat shrink is used on the cable behind the thermistor to reduce solar load. Constantan wire is used to minimize thermal conduction down the wire towards the thermistor. The ST-110 is designed to make air temperature measurements in Apogee’s TS-100 Aspirated Radiation Shield and can be used in static, multi-plate shields from other companies as well.
SF-421-SS: SDI-12 Leaf and Bud Temperature Sensor
The SF-421-SS has an SDI-12 digital output and high-quality cable terminating in pre-tinned pigtail leads for easy connection to dataloggers and controllers. The detector is a combination of two temperature sensors (precision thermistors) in a single housing. One sensor is designed to mimic a plant leaf the other a flower bud. The SF-421-SS provides close approximations to leaf and bud temperatures and has a temperature measurement range of -50 to 70 C.
Typical applications include leaf and bud temperature estimates in cropped fields, orchards, and vineyards. Leaf and bud temperatures returned by the detector can then be used to alert growers to the potential of frost damage to crops. Sensor includes IP68 marine-grade stainless-steel cable connector 30 cm from head to simplify sensor removal and replacement for maintenance and recalibration.
